“The migration of the monarch butterfly is one of the world’s greatest treasures. The Methuselah generation travels a distance of over 5,000 kilometers from Canada, crossing the United States to winter in the Oyamel sanctuaries of Michoacán and the State of Mexico. Francisco Vico Gutiérrez follows this path in his ultralight aircraft (painted like a monarch butterfly) to raise awareness about the challenges these butterflies face along the way. The documentary *Papalotzin* follows this adventurous journey and reveals the obstacles the monarch butterfly encounters during its migration, as well as those faced by the Papalotzin team during their 72-day expedition.”
